I am writing a post about this book because I recently read it for school. This book is a historical fiction, based on Alexie’s life and what the government did to Indians. One of the characters in the book is Rowdy. He is a violent bully who also happens to be Junior’s best friend. I would not like to meet him because he would probably punch me in the face. The book is pretty good, although it is definitely not one of my favorites. I would give it 3.5/5 stars. I can’t think of another book similar to this one that I have read because I don’t read much historical fiction. The only other book I can think of is about a young girl and her family trying to escape Vietnam because of the war. She is trying to escape her home and find hope in another country. I think that the author is trying to tell you that even if life kicks you in the face and pushes you off a cliff, you should still make the best of it and enjoy freefall.
At least until you splat.
Liked your wording for “I think that the author is trying to tell you that even if life kicks you in the face and pushes you off a cliff, you should still make the best of it and enjoy freefall.” who was the main character in the book? You should probably tell them Junior’s real name.
