I chose this book to do a blog post on because, well, this was my class book and my teacher made me do it. The book is about a Hispanic girl named Esperanza who suffers because a lot of people she meets are really racist and say cruel things. Angel Vargas was one of the characters in the book until she fell off a roof and died. I would not like to meet her because she sounds like a bad influence.
The book itself is pretty good although I am more into sci-fi than this genre of book. I would rate it 4.5/5.0 stars. I don’t know of any books like it. I think the main idea is to keep going even when it seems like your life couldn’t get any worse.
